Mohamed Salah is understood to be close to signing a new contract with Liverpool after having a change of heart over his future.The Egyptian winger had been at risk of leaving Liverpool with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season and negotiations over a new contract proving complicated.However, The Mirror now report that Salah is close to agreeing terms on a new deal that will keep him at Anfield for the rest of his playing career.

This comes after the 29-year-old had a change of heart and decided to stay at the club going forward.Salah is also said to have compromised on his wage demands, having previously requested wages similar to that of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is paid around £500,000-per-week by Manchester United.Those wage demands saw Salah reportedly reject an offer of £400,000-per-week from Liverpool earlier this season, which sparked interest from the likes of Juventus and Barcelona.Had Salah not agreed a new deal, he would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 2023 and leave Liverpool for free at the end of his contract.Instead, he is now understood to be set to sign a deal between three and four years in length, which would keep him at Anfield until 2025 at the earliest, at which point he will be 33-years-old.Will Liverpool win the Premier League this season?
