Paul's agents confirmed the sad news in a statement, which read: "After a short illness we are extremely saddened to confirm Paul Byrne has passed away at 45." Paul worked on a number of shows and was called an "exceptional comedy director" by his agents.The director worked both on stage and screen and helped comics on ITV's Show Me The Funny and was said to be "intrinsic to the success of" Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit. He also wrote for a number of shows on Radio 4.
