Arsenal are so desperate to sign a striker on transfer deadline day that Mikel Arteta’s assistant has reportedly put in a call to Alvaro Morata.
The Gunners look likely to end the January transfer window with a worrying lack of depth up front, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang close to joining Barcelona on loan.
Aubameyang has been frozen out by Arteta since being stripped of the captaincy in December and the club are happy to let him leave before Monday’s 11pm deadline.
