A McDonald’s restaurant in the heart of Middlesbrough’s town centre was evacuated following an alleged stabbing. Teesside Live said police and ambulance raced to the restaurant in Linthorpe Road near to the Cleveland Centre at about 6pm.
No official details of the incident have yet been released but are unconfirmed reports of a stabbing. An eyewitness said officers had stopped anyone from entering or leaving the building.
Police tape sectioned off the upstairs of the restaurant as police continue their investigation. Half-eaten meals remained on trays inside, as people evacuated the building.
