Michael Owen has revealed he was more tempted to join Real Madrid after a onversation with Jamie Carragher, to prove his Liverpool teammate wrong.
The pair were close colleagues in the Reds' dressing room before Owen's switch to the Bernabeu in 2004. Real Madrid were able to snap Owen up for an extremely modest fee of £8million, given the striker had just a year remaining on his contract.
