Travel bosses have condemned a shocking attack on a teenage girl which left her screaming for her mum as she was beaten and robbed on a tram.
Head of Metrolink, Danny Vaughan, blasted the assault - which was filmed and shared on social media - as "totally unacceptable.
Mr Vaughan vowed to help police bring those responsible to justice. The victim had been travelling from the north Manchester area in the city centre, when she was surrounded by a group of teenage boys and girls.
Horrifying footage shows a girl repeatedly punching the victim around the head before dragging her to the floor, where she is further kicked and punched.
