The Gunners announced their 25-man squad on Thursday, with two noticeable omissions: Sokratis Papastathopoulos and World Cup winner Ozil.
The German would have known when the announcement was coming, and would therefore know that his controversial omission would be a topic of debate.
And so he apparently diverted attention at the same time by posting a message to his Twitter followers, thanking them on enabling him to reach the 25million mark.
