Meghan Markle was accused of acting like a “princess” as she and Prince Harry enjoyed a night out at swanky Italian restaurant.
Following the Countess of Sussex’s speech at the United Nations headquarters to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day, the pair joined friends at the Locanda Verde, in New York.An insider claims Meghan wanted the entire inner outdoor courtyard for her own party, but some of the 50-seated area had already been booked and the owner were not for budging.READ NEXT: One soldier dead and nine injured after lightning strike rips through Army training camp The source told Page Six: “The owners told her it had been reserved for a birthday party for 15 people and refused to bounce the party out of the space… they told her she’d need to sit inside, which she did.”There they sat amongst other diners in the busy restaurant, with plenty of security personnel in tow, who had reportedly told those eating not to take any pictures of the royal pair, otherwise they would have to leave the city’s hotspot.Representatives for the restaurant and Meghan did not comment on her particular seating appeal, but another source revealed that her team only “requested a specific table in the dining room”.But far from acting the “princess”, it was also revealed that Meghan showed her tender side by wishing a fellow diner at a nearby table "happy birthday".“There was a celebration at the table next to theirs,” the source said. “Meghan went up to them with Harry and said, ‘I wish you the happiest birthday,’ to the table next to her.
