Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need to start delivering more content if they want to live a celebrity lifestyle, a royal expert has claimed.
Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in March 2020, and later signed up to lucrative deals with streaming titans Netflix and Spotify.
But despite releasing a podcast episode at Christmas in 2020, fans are yet to receive any more releases from the Sussexes, prompting suggestions that the couple’s bosses have taken the projects “into their own hands”.
And, with Harry and Meghan no longer receiving income from their former roles as working royals, the Mail on Sunday’s assistant editor Kate Mansey has claimed the pair may be forced to start delivering more content. “We heard, didn’t we, about all these mega deals that they’d signed and there were huge figures being bandied around… And yet we’ve had one episode of the podcast, that’s it,” Kate observed, speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast. “We thought we might hear something about it by now, perhaps it’s that they haven’t delivered what maybe some of the TV execs might have expected.“Yes, they’re reasonably big names, but they are going to want bang for their buck, and if that’s not being delivered, they’re going to start looking at the letter of the contract.”Kate speculated on Harry and Meghan’s financial situation, noting: “Yeah they’ve got this massive mansion, but it’s not all paid for.“Their lifestyle’s very expensive and if they want to carry on acting like super celebrities, they’re going to have to start bringing the money in.”On their Archewell website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex list two projects planned with Netflix; a docu-series on the Invictus Games, and an animated series, 'Pearl'.
