MAURA Higgins has revealed that she's on "mission to gain weight" after losing "a stone" from a mystery illness. The Love Island star, who was left bedbound and unable to shower or cook a proper meal for the past week, said that she's "finally on the road to recovery".
Wearing a grey hooded jumper and looking fresh-faced, the 31-year-old star shared a photo from her bed as she reassured her fans that she was on the mend.
She wrote: "Thank you all so much for all your lovely get well messages the past few weeks...I am finally on the road to recovery." The media personality shared a photo of a box of doughnuts and penned: "Mission weight gain." The brunette beauty, who admitted she had lost her appetite for the past week, also tucked into takeaway tonight which included truffle pasta, potato wedges and a selection of chicken dishes. 'WORST I'VE FELT' Last week Maura told fans that she has been left bedbound and unable to shower or cook a proper meal.
The reality star described her symptoms saying that she was suffering with extreme sweating and loss of appetite. Sharing a clip of her looking unwell, Maura said: "This is the first time that I've been out of bed in I don't know how long. "And if you're wondering what the noise is, it's a fan...because the sweat that's protruding out of my body, I can't even explain. "If I've not lost a stone from this illness, I'd be shocked." The TV beauty did not reveal what had caused it - but said it was the worst she had ever felt and told fans that she had been living off cereal for the past few days.
