A St Johnstone fan has been banned from attending football matches anywhere in the UK after flouting COVID restrictions to lead an illegal celebration of their Scottish League Cup win.Perth Sheriff Court was told this week stewards tasked to keep players safe as they returned to McDiarmid Park after the team’s win over Livingston “repeatedly observed” Cameron Lorimer encouraging fans to get close to their heroes despite gatherings being banned at the time.Depute fiscal Nicole Lewis said around 100 supporters had gathered illegally at the Crieff Road venue the night of February 28 and Lorimer was seen to encourage a 30 to 40 strong group to break down barriers separating them from players getting back from Hampden Park.She said the group
