Everton defender Mason Holgate was sent off for a high tackle on Tottenham's Pierre Hojbjerg - but only after VAR intervened.Holgate didn't start the Premier League clash against Spurs and was only brought on by Toffees manager Rafa Benitez in the 82nd minute of the match.Barely eight minutes after his introduction he flew into a challenge on the back of Hojbjerg's legs, which was initially deemed to be just a yellow card worthy offence by referee Chris Kavanagh.But Kavanagh was then encouraged to review his decision at the pitchside monitor, after which he upgraded the booking to a red card.The sending off added further to a game packed with punishments but lacking in goals.A staggering six yellow cards were handed out throughout the match.
