Davina McCall has revealed that her menopause symptoms reminded her of her heroin-taking days.The former Big Brother host has been open about using drugs in her 20s but managed to kick the habit and has been clean for many years.

She told The Sun's Fabulous mag that she used to wake up with drenched sheets during those days - and that she felt "revolting" when the same happened 10 years ago because of the menopause. It's a soggy, sweaty prison."The Masked Dancer star Davina, 54, said in 2012 she woke up on a Garnier shoot in Prague with a wet sheet and pillow."I thought, 'What the f*** is going on?' I felt revolting," she said.The mum-of-three has become something of an advocate for women going through the menopause and is on a mission to bust taboos around the subject.Last month she posted a powerful message on Instagram urging women to go to their doctor with "all guns blazing" over their symptoms."I don't know about you but I felt quite invisible and diminished and less than and ridiculous for even thinking about getting help with my symptoms," said the TV star, who shares three children with her ex-husband Matthew Robertson.Davina said that it was seen as just a natural part of life but that her symptoms were "immensely debilitating" and she felt "terrified" when it came to doing something about it."You need to arm yourself with information," she told her fans."You need to help your GP help you."For more of the latest showbiz.
