Marks & Spencer is reportedly close to buying out fashion chain Jaeger, two months after the business went into administration.
The department store is expected to finalise the deal this week, saving part of Philip Day's stricken Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group, which also owns Peacocks and Austin Reed.
It comes just months after M&S chief executive Steve Rowe announced plans to introduce more concessions to stores revive the British brand.
This included a failed bid for lingerie brand Victoria's Secret in the UK and the takeover of eco-fashion label Nobody’s Child last year.
