He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

This Morning star Holly Willoughby was left scratching her head after hearing that tablets have an expiry date and can't just be thrown away.The TV beauty looked gobsmacked as she and co-host Alison Hammond talked about medications with Dr Ellie Cannon.The trio were discussing branded and non-branded medicine when a "best before date" was mentioned.Looking stunned, Holly said: "I didn't even know that was a thing on tablets, until I read that there and I was like, 'Oh my God is there?'""I've probably got stuff lurking at the back of my medicine cabinet," she added, as Alison suggested she had a good clear out.Holly had another surprise when Dr Cannon explained that tablets shouldn't just be thrown in the bin, but should be taken to a pharmacy to be disposed of safely."I didn't know that either!" the star exclaimed.Alison had joined Holly on the ITV programme to fill in for Phillip Schofield, who has been in Covid isolation.The presenter tested positive for the coronavirus at the end of January but, luckily, felt "fine".Appearing on This Morning via video link earlier this month, he assured fans: "I haven't even got a sore throat now.
