Manchester United-loving coronavirus superhero gets Liverpool FC fans angry

The Singaporean government has come in for criticism after they helped launch a Manchester United supporting superhero who "despises" Liverpool as part of a public campaign to raise awareness of Covid-19.

Local art collective the ‘Band of Doodlers’ and the government came up with the idea to create five superheroes dubbed the ‘virus vanguard’ to provide important information in a fun and accessible way to its citizens.

The characters included Fake News Buster, Dr Disinfector and MAWA (Must Always Walk Alone) Man as part of the project. MAWA Man was designed in an attempt to reinforce the importance of social distancing during the pandemic.
