Manchester United's hopes of signing Jules Kounde in January have been dashed as Sevilla are expected to hold out until June unless the defender's €80m (£69m) release clause is met.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with the Frenchman and were said to be on the verge of signing the 23-year-old in the summer, only to see both two parties fail to agree on a fee after Thomas Tuchel refused to met the release clause.
Marca report that Sevilla have no intention of parting ways with the talented defender in the upcoming transfer window and hope for the big sale in the summer.
With Kounde, it is said that he is calm about his future at Sanchez-Pizjuan and is open to continuing his development in La Liga despite interest from the Premier League.
