A man has been using the same £3 Woolworths Christmas tree lights for 51 years - without a single bulb ever being replaced. Ross Farr-Semmens, 41, inherited the decorations from his mum Vina Shaddick after she died two years ago.
The lights were bought by Vina in 1969 and have adorned the plastic tree every Christmas since, Plymouth Live reports. It is now more than half a century of faultless use with all the original set of bulbs still intact.
The lights remain in-situ all year round on the tree for fear that they are too fragile to disassemble. But as the festive season rolls round, the black bag over the 1970s tree is carefully removed revealing the sparkly artefacts.
