Alfred Carter, 39, has been declared dangerous after launching the random attack against a complete stranger. The victim had been working late at the car repairs garage he owns in Bury, when Carter approached him.
He was trying to get his work finished before going on holiday with his partner to celebrate his birthday a few days later. But Carter, who in the time leading up to the attack had been drinking a bottle of spirits a night, bizarrely started claiming the man was 'hiding' his partner in the garage.
