The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with section 18 wounding and possession of a bladed article.

He will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (Friday). Officers were called to the tram stop at around 9.10pm on Wednesday night.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was found with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
