Sam Tomkins has slipped back in the race to be crowned the 2021 Man of Steel after failing to earn a point in round 14. Super League leaders Catalans Dragons maintained their outstanding form by beating Leeds Rhinos at Headingley but the points went to James Maloney, Arthur Mourgue and Sam Kasiano.
Tomkins therefore drops back to 1.7 points per game after the scoring system changed last week, meaning Hull KR half-back Jordan Abdull is right on his tail again despite not playing since June 11.
St Helens playmaker Jonny Lomax is another leading contender but he too missed out last week, with rookie scrum-half Lewis Dodd claiming maximum points for an impressive performance in the win at Wakefield Trinity.
