Police have arrested a man following a ‘disturbance’ on a busy Manchester city centre street. Officers were called to King Street at around 6.30am this morning (October 29).
Police said their enquiries established that a man was throwing bricks at a commercial property and sprayed an ‘unidentified substance’ at security staff.
He then fled the scene, Greater Manchester Police said. The force said the substance was tested by the fire service and is ‘not deemed to be harmful’.
A 53-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and two assaults, GMP said. He remains in custody for questioning.
