Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

dailyrecord.co.ukA man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 36-year-old woman was stabbed to death in a house in a quiet estate. Tributes have been paid to Tamby Dowling who was found dead at around 7pm on Monday evening.
Police launched a murder investigation and tracked a 34-year-old man who was charged with murder and has since been detained under the Mental Health Act.
During the attack a 16-year-old girl also suffered superficial injuries and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, according to police.
Messages of condolence have been left for Ms Dowling placed at the scene of the tragedy.Several bouquets of flowers with messages have been placed outside the house on Watermill Avenue, in Chadderton, where a police cordon remains
