Man strangled partner and destroyed home after she tried to wake him up for work

A vile thug assaulted his girlfriend and smashed up her home after he overslept for work in drug and alcohol fuelled rampage.

George Hurst, 32, slammed his victim's face so hard into a wall that a mirror broke and strangled her until she was gasping for air.

Hurst, of Bolton Road, Chorley, was handed a 16 month prison sentence for the brutal attack on August 3 2021 at Preston Crown Court.

Recorder Andrew McLaughlin, sentencing, said: "The domestic context of the offending makes it even more serious."As reported by Lancs Live, the defendant had stayed over at his then partner's house the night previous after drinking and taking cocaine.
