A man in his 70s was rushed to hospital after he was reportedly hit over the head with a bottle, while a woman was left 'shaken' after being threatened near a motorway bridge.

Witnesses saw tissues and a pillow 'covered in blood' on the pavement. A man in his 70s was rushed to hospital shortly after 2pm with serious head injuries and is now in a stable condition.
