At least three people have been killed and several more injured after a large explosion destroyed a building in Madrid. A man who went into a building belonging to the Catholic Church to fix the boiler is missing, while two fatalities were people inside the building and a third fatality was a person walking in the street when the explosion took place.
Casualties including a priest were feared trapped in the rubble as people were unaccounted for after it collapsed, Telemadrid broadcaster has said this afternoon.
Jose Manuel Franco, a central government representative for the Madrid region, confirmed this afternoon the number of dead following the gas blast had risen to three and a fourth person was missing. Are you in Madrid?
