Manchester United right-back Rafael da Silva has revealed Louis van Gaal was "obsessed" with detail during his time in the Old Trafford hot seat, giving him "nightmares".The master tactician, 70, has sadly been suffering from prostate cancer and disclosed his diagnosis to the public live on Dutch television at the weekend.
Van Gaal stated that the cancer is aggressive, and he has even been undergoing radiation therapy whilst on international duty with the Netherlands squad.
The Dutchman would leave the squad's hotel late at night to go and receive treatment, as he did not want to worry his players and distract them from performing at their peak.
But Van Gaal's dedication to management will come as no surprise to former Man Utd hero Rafael, who described him as "obsessed" during their time together at the Theatre of Dreams.He told Talk of the Devils: "The guy [van Gaal] was obsessed.
