Queen Elizabeth II: Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace?
The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. Yahoo New UK reported, however, that despite the reception originally only being for working members of the royal family, an exception was made and the Sussexes are expected to attend.  Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, leave Westminster Hall, London after the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II was brought to the hall to lie in state ahead of her funeral on Monday on September 14, 2022 in London, England.  (Photo Danny Lawson - WPA Pool/Getty Images)) The "King and Queen Consort, accompanied by members of the royal family" plan to welcome hundreds of world leaders and royals from other countries, the palace said on Friday.

Moment woman gives King Charles III a pen ‘just in case’ after infamous ‘pengate’
King Charles III burst out laughing when a kind woman in the crowd handed him a pen "just in case" following his recent frustrations with stationery. The 73-year-old monarch was greeting members of the public in Cardiff on Friday, September 17, when a woman made the light-hearted gesture of handing him a pen.His Majesty seemed slightly confused by the gift at first but realised why and burst out laughing when she said: "Just in case."READ MORE: King Charles' outburst caught on camera - 'I can't bear this bloody thing!'The King was later seen bringing his own pen to a Welsh cathedral after being frustrated by previous mishaps that left his hand covered in ink.Although, it did not appear to be the pen handed to him by the woman outside. The monarch and Queen Consort Camilla were visiting Cardiff and attended a service of prayers and reflection for the late Queen at Llandaff Cathedral. At the end of the service, they were invited to sign a guest book to mark their first visit as King and Queen Consort.Charles took out a fountain pen from his suit jacket and calmly signed on the book "Charles R", which "R" stands for Rex, meaning King in Latin. He passed the book and the pen to Camilla, who signed "Camilla R" right under his signature. The King then popped his pen back into his pocket before walking down the aisle and exiting the cathedral where the crowd welcomed him with cheers.Sky correspondent Laura Bundock said: "Interestingly one thing I noticed at the very end when the King and Queen Consort were signing the visitor's book in the cathedral, he had brought his own pen following the previous pen problems we had seen."He had one and gave it to the Queen Consort before he signed the book as well.

New Kate Middleton photos spell 'disaster' for King Charles, royal expert claims
Kate Middleton could spell disaster for King Charles, a royal expert has claimed. The Princess of Wales and her husband, William, travelled to the Queen's Norfolk estate of Sandringham on Thursday (September 15) to thank the public for their condolences, and were met by huge crowds offering flowers at the remote palace.Images show the future King and Queen smiling and talking to royal fans, who had journeyed from across the country to catch a glimpse of the Waleses - and the pics could mean trouble for the new King Charles.READ MORE: Queue tracker live: Exact location and wait times for Queen's lying-in-state lineThe late Queen's eldest son has been on the throne for just over a week, ever since Her Majesty tragically died last Thursday (September 8).And although reception of the new King and Queen Consort Camilla has so far seemed positive, the King has already had a number of small but embarrassing public blunders - mostly involving fountain pens.Royal expert Daniela Elser said the King was already floundering just a week into the job, and that these photos showing the British public's famous love for Will and Kate could give him pause for thought.Writing for news.com.au, she said: "Charles clearly needed a bit of a break, a chance to soak in the tub with some Molton Brown bubble bath and to re-read the Magna Carta to double-check it still limits royal authority."It’s only one week into the job he has waited more than 50 years to do and he has already managed to have not one but two tanties caught on video."She added: "If ever there was a moment that should make Charles choke on his afternoon fruitcake, it’s this."Charles’ time to shine might have arrived, but if these new images of William and Kate are anything to go
