Southampton likened to "hungover Sunday league side" over horrendous mistakes vs Watford
Southampton have been compared to a “hungover Sunday league side” after conceding a shambolic goal in their 2-1 defeat by relegation-threatened Watford on Sunday.Watford came into the fixture with just one win from their last 16 Premier League games, but left with a valuable three points in their bid to avoid the drop.Their win owed a lot to Saints’ generous defence, who gift-wrapped Cucho Hernandez’s opener 14 minutes into the game.Fraser Forster and Jan Bednarek played some ponderous balls around the back before Mohammed Salisu left his back-pass short for his goalkeeper, allowing Hernandez to nip in, round Forster and score. It was shocking defending from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, who found themselves 2-0 down after 34 minutes when Hernandez smashed a powerful volley through Forster.Mohamed Elyounoussi pulled a goal back from close range following a James Ward-Prowse free-kick, but the home team couldn’t find an equaliser in a sloppy second half to record a third straight defeat. All fans were talking about after the match was the comical way in which Saints conceded the first goal.“Surely not, wtf you’d think it was some hungover Sunday League side,” wrote one fan on Twitter.HAVE YOUR SAY! Can Watford avoid the drop this season? Comment below.“Ermm..looks pretty awful,” wrote one commenter.“This defending is painful to watch...

Deliveroo and Uber Eats cancel service as Storm Eunice sparks rider safety fears
the Met Office said. This comes as Storm Eunice has wrecked havoc across the country.Flights have been cancelled throughout the UK, with London City Airport closing down completely.A number of brave pilots have attempted landings, with some succeeding, while others have decided to abort.Ferries running between Southampton and the Isle of Wight, but also those from Dover to Calais have also been affected due to the adverse weather conditions.Despite warnings from the Met Office and the authorities for people to stay at home, some have not only gone out, but gone for a swim too.A trio of men were pictured stripping off to their trunks and getting into the water at New Brighton, Merseyside.Trees up and down the country have been at the mercy of the winds, with a massive one in Devon being completely ripped from its roots.Thousands of homes across the country, including the south-west and the north of England have also experienced power cuts. The post has also been affected, with Royal Mail announcing that no mail would be delivered in areas that are part of the red weather warning.London's iconic O2 Arena had sections of its roof ripped off by the strong winds. The emergency services are dealing with issues non-stop, following an increasing number of calls by concerned residents, with Devon and Cornwall Police saying they have received four times as many calls as normal.

Sir Alex Ferguson once begged one of worst Premier League keepers to stay at Man Utd
Manchester United, but he also had a few flops during his time.Although Ferguson had some of the greats in goal over his spell at United, for some reason every goalkeeper was prone to an iconic howler at Old Trafford, with Roy Carroll, Fabien Barthez and David De Gea amongst some of the shot-stoppers to embarrass themselves. One of the most famous incidents of all though, was when Massimo Taibi allowed Matt Le Tissier's shot to squeeze through his legs while his face planted into the ground, but by the time he picked himself up, the ball was in the net.Despite flopping at United, the goalkeeper who has just turned 52, claimed that it was his decision to leave United, and that Ferguson begged him to stay.Taibi joined United in 1999 for £4.5million after Peter Schmeichel left Old Trafford, but the Italian soon returned to his homeland the following year after making just four appearances for the first team. The goalkeeper revealed that it was a family issue causing him major issues, and that he had to return to Italy, but admitted that Ferguson was desperate to see him stay at the club. Unfortunately for Talibi, one of those four games included the howler against Southampton, but the Italian opened up about his time at United."Of course, it was 100% my decision to leave Manchester United.

Arsenal identify Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement but face Chelsea transfer battle
football.london.Broja had not made an appearance for Chelsea before being sent out on loan, though he has always been tipped to have a bright future while working his way up through the academy. With Arteta building a squad with young talents that will improve and create a star-studded squad when those players continue to improve, it is no surprise that the 20-year-old is one of his top targets. But Chelsea are expected to be incredibly reluctant to part ways with their academy graduate given that they are starting to look short of a different option in the final third.Romelu Lukaku has struggled to set the league alight since his return from Inter Milan, and Timo Werner is continuing to look better utilised as a winger rather than through the middle.Discussing Broja earlier this season, Thomas Tuchel said: “He’s our player and he’s doing good, but at the same time it’s only half a season, so he needs to continue to improve and to make his statement at Southampton.“We have a reason why they are our players, they have quality and mentality and now they are out there on their own in different environments and clubs and proving themselves.“Armando’s getting better and better, he’s a very unique player with unique strengths in his game - he has speed, he’s robust and he’s a goalscorer.”Chelsea rejected a bid from Southampton last month for the no.9 which could be a sign of how highly the club rate Broja and thus how unlikely it is that the Stamford Bridge outfit will accept a bid from Arsenal for the star.
