Rod Stewart has weighed in on the clash between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stressing that “we must keep supporting the Ukrainians”.On Friday (February 28), the US president and his Ukrainian counterpart held a press conference in the White House which descended into a bad-tempered and fiery exchange of words, with Trump claiming that Zelenskyy was “not ready for peace” and “gambling with World War Three”.Since the meeting, figures including Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron have expressed strong solidarity with Zelenskyy, with the former hosting a summit of European leaders in London today (March 2) to discuss how to support Ukraine moving forward.Zelenskyy himself attended the summit, and now Stewart has posted an image on his Instagram Stories of Starmer and Zelenskyy shaking hands in Downing Street. “Proud to be British,” he wrote.

James McAvoy touched down in his hometown at the Glasgow Film Festival this weekend where the actor lifted the lid on his experience of directing his first feature film California Schemin’ , which he admitted was “the most stressful thing I’ve ever done in my life.” 

Russell Brand has been sued in London’s High Court over allegations of sexual abuse.In the first ever known lawsuit brought against the comedian in his home country, an individual reportedly filed a “personal injury sex abuse” case against him on February 6 (via The Sun).Further details of the case are not known, with the claimant remaining anonymous, although it is believed they are claiming damages.A wave of accusations against Brand emerged in September 2023 following an investigation by Channel 4, The Times and The Sunday Times, which saw him accused of multiple counts of rape, assault and emotional abuse between 2006 and 2013.He has strongly denied all of the allegations, saying at the time: “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute”.In November last year, police asked the Crown Prosecution Service to consider bringing criminal charges against Brand. The case is currently being reviewed.

Sabrina Carpenter opened the BRIT Awards with an eye-catching medley of two of her biggest hits – see the footage below.The performance opened with a version of 2024 megahit ‘Espresso’, where the singer was joined by a troop of dancing King’s Guards, with Carpenter incorporating strains of ‘Rule Britannia’ into the track. “Hello Brits!” she declared as she descended the steps onto The O2 stage.From there, she segued into a seductive performance of ‘Bed Chem’, as she danced on a giant pink bed, alongside a team of backing dancers on their own boudoirs.

Slipknot played their 2008 track ‘Gematria (The Killing Name)’ for the first time ever this week – check out the footage below. The band were playing the first of a mini-tour of Australia on Friday night (February 28) in Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse when they decided to dig into their catalogue to give the track its live debut. ‘Gematria (The Killing Name)’ was first released on their fourth studio album ‘All Hope Is Gone’ in 2008, and frontman Corey Taylor has said in the past that despite him loving the song himself, the rest of the band would never “never play it”, telling All Things Music in 2023: “Unless the Pope ends up opening up for Slipknot someday, that shit will never happen”.

Gary, who tied the knot with Dawn in 2000, said he'd choose to be with his wife, who recently criticised him for being away so much.
