Michele Amabile Angermiller Not long into her headlining set on the first day of the fourth annual Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Stevie Nicks had a question for the thousands stretched across the beach. “Is this the world of Bruce Springsteen?” she asked to enthusiastic cheers. “OK, we’re driving through, and there’s a street sign and I asked that same question and nobody really answered, at least like you guys just did.” Springsteen is certainly a part of the tapestry of the town, and was well-represented in photographer/festival organizer Danny Clinch’s art tent. But the city has an ever-evolving musical scene, and the beachside setting was its own draw on a weekend of warm, beautiful days and picturesque nights, with an ocean breeze enveloping Nicks and her flowing scarves, creating an ambience — or as she described it, a “fairytale” — only Mother Nature can provide. A red crescent moon peeking through the overhead clouds added to the mystique on the final weekend of summer and beginning of the fall season, or as Nicks — in a nod to her fans donning witch hats and Stevie-attire on the sand — framed it: “it’s almost Halloween.”

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music Bruce Springsteen has always been a master at mythologizing his own story, and his latest film “Road Diary” is no exception: It’s a tribute to the E Street Band’s 50-year history and their decades of touring, his 60-year friendship with guitarist Steve Van Zandt (who makes a crack about finally officially being named the E Street Band’s musical director after 40 years), the familial bonds between the bandmates, the crew and his longtime manager Jon Landau, and other sentiments that are well familiar to fans and get a thorough and moving presentation in the Thom Zimny-directed film, an artfully executed documentary of the band’s 2023 tour of North America and Europe. Those themes were aired at length at a Q&A sessions following that followed the New York screening of the film at the Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday night, Springsteen, Van Zandt, Landau and Zimny, but the most revealing moment came when moderator Jon Sykes of iHeartMedia asked him why the film prominently spotlights a quote from a Jim Morrison poem: “O great creator of being Grant us one more hour to perform our art and perfect our lives” What Springsteen said about the quote itself was less interesting than the story that came with it, which involves a Doors concert in Asbury Park, New Jersey on August 30, 1968 that was attended by Springsteen, his wife Patti Scialfa and longtime E Street Band bassist Gary Tallent, but before any of them had met.

Stevie Nicks is hitting the road once again for her fall 2022 tour.The "Edge of Seventeen" singer has a busy couple of months ahead after she announced on Monday via Instagram that she was going on a fall tour with special guest Vanessa Carlton.  "Here we go! I’m so excited to be back on the road and can’t wait to see everyone," Nicks wrote on her Instagram post.  The tour kicks off on September 13 in Clarkston, Michigan and wraps up on October 28 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
