Liverpool will need to work some more accounting magic in the transfer market this summer if they want to make any new additions.
The Reds were clever last summer to arrange deals with both Wolves and Bayern Munich for the respective transfers of Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara.
Both players were acquired for minimal initial outlay, believed to be in the region of £4million each, with further payments due in installments.
And it is likely the club will have to operate in a similar fashion again in the forthcoming window after they announced pre-tax losses of £46m for the year ending May 2020.
