Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea will fly the flag for the Premier League in the last-16 of the Champions League. Manchester United’s elimination leaves only three English teams in the elite European competition entering the knockout stages.
Whilst the Red Devils will drop into the Europa League, their three domestic rivals were all able to top their groups. That puts them in a favourable position as they are in line to face one of the other eight runners-up in the last-16.
They will avoid fellow group winners Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain when the draw for the last-16 takes place on Monday, December 14.
