The buffalo had been grazing alone and had "no defence" against the bloodthirsty big cats, legendary narrator David Attenborough explained in the BBC documentary.

Footage shows the animal in a deadlock with an adult male lion which has pinned its prey's head still with its powerful limbs while lying vulnerable on the ground.
