Lee Mack’s new game show The 1% Club shelved plunging ITV scheduling into chaos

LEE Mack has not had the best of years on the box. After his Sky History show The Chop was axed after one episode in October because of a contestant with far-right tattoos, his new show, The 1% Club, has been shelved, too.

The ITV game show, which would have seen 100 contestants answering a series of questions — starting from one that 99 per cent of Brits would get right down to one only one per cent of would — was due to be filmed at the start of last year.

But the eight planned episodes are still on ice due to the pandemic, leaving ITV bosses with a scheduling headache. A telly insider said: “A pilot for The 1% Club was made in January last year with Lee at the helm, but since then, any plans have been on hold. “The pandemic has made.
