The industry turned away from the humble soap bar because most are quite alkaline, which can disrupt your skin’s barrier and cause dry, flaky or itchy skin.
But it’s clearly working for Hutton, who has all the lines and wrinkles you’d expect for someone in their seventies but with a luminous, healthy-looking glow.
She does use a retinol product at night - the £79 S.T.A.R. Light Retinol Night Oil by American brand StriVectin, which she claims “does really good things for your skin.” Any dermatologist will tell you that retinol - a derivative of vitamin A - is the gold standard for keeping the skin looking smooth, soft and supple.
