Coronation Street star Alex Bain has jetted off and said 'bon voyage' to the UK after he landed up in hospital. The actor, who is best known for playing Simon Barlow in the ITV soap, reportedly ended up in A&E before his trip on Monday (May 23).
The soap star shared pictures of him sat in a wheelchair as he attended Blackburn Hospital A&E department in now-deleted Instagram Stories.
According to the Mirror he joked that it was "not where he expected to end up" that evening. He then added: "Don’t worry guys it’s just my ankle," before later added another picture showing his injury being supported by a medical boot. READ MORE: ITV Coronation Street confirms horror crash for Toyah and Imran with confirmed arrest in new photos But he's not let that ruin his plans and on Monday night Alex, who has appeared in Corrie as the son of Peter Barlow since 2008, headed off to Manchester Airport.
Sharing a selfie on his Instagram Story while on his way, he wrote: "Time to see if I've still got my flight legs or something like that." He then shared his thanks with airport staff as he grappled with his moon boot.
