Cases have more than doubled week-on-week in Salford which now has second the second-highest rate in Greater Manchester, whilst there have also been notable increases in the number of cases in Stockport, Oldham and Tameside.
In Bolton, there were 1,079 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending May 28, which is 223 fewer than the previous seven days, data from Public Health England shows.
