Kieran McKenna has thanked Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick for his 'understanding' as his move to Ipswich Town was confirmed on Thursday night.
McKenna has been named as the new Ipswich manager following the sacking of Paul Cook 10 days ago, with the club sitting 12th in League One, and fellow United coach Martyn Pert will be following him to East Anglia.
The 35-year-old has spent five years at United after arriving as Under-18s coach in 2016 but quickly rose through the ranks at Old Trafford and was promoted to the first-team staff by Jose Mourinho.
