Kanye West's election plans gain woeful first poll result but 'damages Trump campaign'

Kanye West’s road to power has hit a stumbling block as the first polls since he announced his intention to run for President of the United States of America show him gaining barely any support.

The 43-year-old shocked the political, entertainment and international worlds earlier this month when he revealed he plans to run for office in the upcoming 2020 USA elections.

However, the rap star has won only two per cent of the vote, according to pollsters in America – suggesting the Jesus Walks singer will face humiliation in the November elections.

Redfield & Wilton Strategies in the USA polled 2,000 Americans on July 9 – five days after Kanye’s bombshell announcement – to gauge public opinion of the upcoming presidential race.
