Kai Havertz will ask Bayer Leverkusen chiefs to sanction his move to Chelsea once he returns to training. The German star has long been linked with an exit from the Bundesliga outfit following a stellar showing this season.
A host of Premier League clubs have eyed his signature as well as Real Madrid but Chelsea have been the first to act. Reports suggest that personal terms between the Blues and the player have been agreed with a transfer fee the only remaining sticking point.
And Bild understand that Havertz will ask Leverkusen on Thursday to finalise his sale to the west London club. The 23-year-old has scored 17 times in all competitions for the Champions League hopefuls.
