Chelsea will have the chance to match Manchester City’s bid for Nathan Ake. A clause in the contract that saw the 25-year-old move to Bournemouth in 2017 means that the Blues will be given every opportunity to equal bids from opposition clubs.
The Cherries will have to inform Chelsea of the exact fee that has been agreed before anything can be confirmed, but it looks unlikely that they will make a move of their own after choosing not to initiate their £40m buy-back clause.
Ake has played a key role under Eddie Howe for the past five seasons, but the club have been forced into selling some of their stars after suffering relegation to the Championship.
