Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to land Burnley keeper Nick Pope. Blues boss Frank Lampard appears to have lost all faith in Spanish stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga - and is on the hunt for a world-class replacement between the posts.

And he sees Pope, 28, who just missed out on the Golden Glove this season after keeping 15 clean Premier League sheets in the – one less than Manchester City’s Ederson – as the best choice.

The England keeper, capped twice by Gareth Southgate, still has three years left on his contract with Burnley and will not come cheap.
