Jose Mourinho explains Tanguy Ndombele snub - "I didn't need him"

Jose Mourinho said he "didnt need" Tanguy Ndombele in Tottenham's win over West Ham on Tuesday night. The Frenchman has not featured in either of his side's two games since the Premier League resumed.

Speculation has mounted that Mourinho and Tottenham's record signing do not see eye to eye. But the Special One has moved to dismiss any notion of a rift between them despite claiming he "didn't have a midfield" when Ndombele played in Tottenham's draw at Burnley in March.

Against West Ham Mourinho started with a three man midfield of Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso. It meant Ndombele was again overlooked and wasn't even introduced as one of the five subs.
