The rehearsal for Joe Biden's inauguration has been postponed due to security concerns as US airlines tighten restrictions. Thousands of Americans have been placed on no-fly lists by US airlines with passengers banned from carrying firearms in their luggage and no on-board alcohol to be sold ahead of Wednesday's inauguration.

A rehearsal for US President-elect's swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Sunday has been delayed because of security concerns, Politico reported, citing two people with knowledge of the decision.

The rehearsal is now planned for Monday, according to the report. It comes as Delta Airlines introduces a no gun policy on flights to Washington DC until the end of next week as law enforcement agencies ramp up security
