Jess Glynne has issued a public apology after she was criticised for using a transphobic slur while making a guest appearance on Mo Gilligan's podcast.
The 31-year-old singer made the offensive and 'unacceptable' remark last week in a now-deleted clip as she told Mo about visiting a 'tranny strip club' with her 'bad man' friend, outraging listeners as she used the slur.
She said on the episode: "This is probably the funniest bit. We got to the end our like, trail, whatever, it was like a tranny, like, strip club thing. "There was just men dressed…" In response to her damaging comment, fans tweeted Jess with anger - which has led her to make an apology to the LGBTQ+ community.
