A mum who named her child after the Covid lockdown insists she "regrets nothing" - and doesn't care that people may not like it.

Jodi Cross, 36, gave birth to her daughter in November 2021 after getting pregnant during the lockdown earlier that year. Because the hairdresser and her husband Rob, 26, were on furlough and working less, they credited the lockdown as the reason for their pregnancy - and decided they would name their little girl after it.They called their daughter Lockie - short for lockdown - when she came into the world on November 28 last year. And although Jodi says the name might surprise people, she has "no regrets" over her choice.Jodi, a hairdresser from Bedfordshire, said: "We had been trying for a year to get pregnant and lockdown meant I was furloughed and Rob was working less."I think we just relaxed a bit because we had so much more time than we normally would, and then we found out I was pregnant."When she was born there was the new strain of Covid coming about - Omicron - so we knew she'd be a lockdown baby."So we named her Lockie for lockdown - we really liked the name, and lockdown was a good time in our lives because it was so relaxing."People might not like the name, but I don't care what they think."Jodi went to school with husband Rob, but they fell out of contact until they matched on Tinder in 2019.After a date at the local pub, they quickly developed a romance together - until the first Covid lockdown in 2020 hit, making the country grind to a standstill.Because her and Rob were living separately at the time, he moved in with Jodi, taking his one-year-old child from a previous relationship with him.
