SCARLETT MOFFATT wanted to find the courage to tell her fans she was a Christian but feared a backlash after being bullied throughout her life.
But after taking part in BBC religious reality show Pilgrimage, the former Gogglebox star now has the confidence to reveal the truth — thanks to God.
Today, in an exclusive interview, Scarlett, 31, said: “For a long time, part of me has wanted to be able to go on social media and talk about my religion. “I wanted other people who are religious to know who I am and what I am about, because there is quite a stigma attached to it and it’s not really the cool thing to talk about. “Because of my age and because part of my job is being a social media influencer — and you have to balance what you put on social media — I would say, ‘Yeah, I believe in God,’ and play it down a little bit.
I didn’t know how to handle it.” Pilgrimage sees Scarlett join five other famous faces as they travel across the Scottish Highlands to learn about Saint Columba, a key figure in British Christianity who helped spread the faith from Ireland to Scotland.
