To be honest, I hadn’t given it much thought. Ollie, by contrast, had thought about it a lot and wanted at least two, ideally more.Until our son Oscar was born two years ago, I always assumed that we would have multiple children.
I’m an only child, but never felt lonely, and loved returning to my quiet, calm bedroom after playing at friends’ noisy houses.
I just assumed life would be better for my son if he had siblings to play with, and eventually (touch wood) to help take care of Ollie and me when we’re old.
