Huge headache for Lanarkshire parents as they are told SPT have failed to organise buses

Pupils set to return to the classroom today have been told they may not make their first day back after the summer holidays due to an issue with school transport across the region.Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), who’s responsible for organising both North and South Lanarkshire council’s school transport contracts, told both councils just yesterday (Tuesday) that they have not been able to "organise buses" on a number of routes.This will affect 26 primary and secondary schools across North Lanarkshire and an as yet unknown number of routes across the South.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
